The terms that govern your use of 1-800-ADU-Pros and our service introducing homeowners to independent, licensed ADU builders.
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and 1-800-ADU-Pros (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using this website or submitting our intake form, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1-800-ADU-Pros is a referral, directory, and pre-qualification service — not a contractor, builder, architect, engineer, or licensed professional. We do not hold a contractor's license, we do not design, build, or perform any construction, and we do not supervise any work. What we do is operate a directory of independent, California-licensed ADU builders and introduce homeowners to one or more of them based on the information the homeowner provides. Our role ends at the introduction.
While we screen builders before listing them (see How We Vet) and verify license information from public records at the time of review, we do not guarantee the work, conduct, pricing, availability, licensing status at any later date, or results of any builder we introduce you to. Vetting reduces risk; it does not eliminate it. License, bond, and insurance status can change after we verify them, and we encourage you to independently confirm any builder's license at cslb.ca.gov before you hire and before you pay. We make no promise that an introduction will result in a project, a quote, or a particular price.
If you choose to work with a builder we introduce, you contract directly and independently with that builder. Any agreement, quote, scope, price, payment, warranty, timeline, and the work itself are strictly between you and the builder. We are not a party to that contract, we are not your agent or the builder's agent, and we are not responsible for either party's performance, payments, disputes, defects, delays, or damages. California law caps contractor down payments — do not pay more than the legal limit before work begins.
We match and introduce you using the information you submit — your property address, ownership status, budget, funding, timeline, and project details. You are responsible for the accuracy of that information. Pre-qualification is an informational assessment based on what you tell us and is not a determination that your property can legally support an ADU, an appraisal, or professional zoning, legal, financial, or construction advice. Always confirm feasibility with the appropriate licensed professionals and your local building department.
By submitting our form, you agree that we and the builder(s) we match you with may contact you by phone, text (SMS), and email about your project, including by automated means, at the contact details you provide. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes and only to request services for property you own or are authorized to act on. You agree not to: submit false, misleading, or another person's information without authorization; use the site to harass builders or send spam; attempt to disrupt, scrape, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its data; or use the site or any content in a way that infringes our or a third party's rights. We may decline service, remove content, or restrict access at our discretion.
The site and service are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any information — including builder listings — is complete or current.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 1-800-ADU-Pros and its owners, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the site, any introduction, or any dealings with or work performed by a builder — even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent any liability is not excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the site or service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the site means you accept the changes. Questions about these Terms? Email hello@1800adupros.com or call 1-800-ADU-PROS (1-800-238-7767).
