We hired SouthSTAR Construction to build a 1,200 sq ft ADU in our backyard and honestly couldn't be happier with how it turned out. From the very first meeting, John and his team were straightforward about timelines, costs, and what to expect — no runaround, no surprise charges. They handled everything from permits to final inspection, which took a huge weight off our shoulders. The craftsmanship is excellent; the unit looks like it was always meant to be part of the property. Our neighbors have already asked who built it. We used South Star construction to build our ADU from the ground up and had a great experience overall. They were efficient, fairly priced, and very upfront about what was included in their scope of work. Communication was clear, there were no surprise costs, and they delivered what they promised. We came to SouthStar to build an ADU on my grandparents property. At first we considered getting a manufactured home vs. an ADU. John and his team were extremely knowledgeable and not pushy. We ultimately went with SouthStar for the ADU build out and couldn’t be more happy with the results. He was able to work within our budget and still give us a beautiful finished product. You can probably find someone cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Save yourself the headache.

Best ADU ever! Southstar Construction did a wonderful job in building my ADU in Fontana. John the Project Manager was proactive during the whole process; from the plans, design, permits, to construction, and through the final city approvals. His crew were very talented and professional; knew exactly what they were doing. The team gave me feedback when I was unsure. They were very good communicators and were available to answer any questions that I had. It has just the right amount of space for me.
